Die for a Tear

Heroes lay down breath for causes,
Noble, worthy or not, who's to
Say; suffice it to bear that they
Stayed not a while for mere trifles.

Should the need arise that I my
Life lay for whatever reason,
A loftier one I seek not
Besides this: to die for a tear.
